A little about us
Hi, I am Lisa founder of the fund, also co owner of TNL Construction, I have had this idea of helping low income families for a few years, and the ideas came from my own dealings with the struggles with in my own life.Right now remodeling is all I have to give, later if and when I get established, we will help in other ways also. The struggling family Fund is a not for profit fund, and as soon as I raise the 150.00 we need to register as a non profit I will. I have looked into grants for this cause, but most want me to be showing some sort of self support and or community support. So here I am, talking to you the community, I have had this idea for a while, but my own struggles get in the way of the money part, but do not get in the way of my time, so I figured while we would donate our time and our skills , I need to come up with the money, then once the money is raised, I have to figure out how, and to whom, I want to help, but 1st things 1st, my 1st Fundraiser for this cause is collecting aluminum cans, why cans? Well number 1 reason is It is easier asking for cans than money, another reason is I figured more people would help if they did not have to give money, and I got the idea from my mother in law, she collects cans and does pretty good at it. Yes, it will take a lot of cans, but if enough people get involved, I think we could raise quite a bit. This is not the only fundraiser we will be doing, I am working on another, I would like to give away at least 2 home make overs at least 500.00 a piece, I hope for more but raising a 1000.00 would make me happy to. I will be posting the results of the fundraiser here on this web page for public veiwing in the future, and will update it monthly. Right now the ad has been in the paper for 2 weeks and still no calls, but I am saving mine, other than that, there is nothing to report, hopefully next time I update, I will have more. Lisa Jones

Here are a few reasons I choose not to vote...I was going through our community news papers, the free ones, when I came across a politcal ad [Sea Breeze paper, April 4th issue, pg.11] wanting us to save our vote and sign a petition to put Kinky Friedman on the ballot for Governor of Texas, I didn't really put to much into the ad, till I got to page 18, and I saw where they wanted us to sign the petion, bottom half of the page, is another ad for "Where in the Hell is San Leon" Town Festival, they advertise strippers, tobacco rolling contest, wet t-shirt contest, fish fry, dirty dice, and "so much more." Oh yeah, lets not forget the Mayoral Election also, and of course this is taking place at a club. Now right above this ad there is another ad, political, this person, Barbra Heins is wanting to be elected Mayor, her ad is suppose to be sexy," whatever," me personally, I would not vote for either one of them, just because of what I just saw, I would not want people that do those kind of things or be represented by those kind of behaviours defending my rights.

Please take a stand against shameless TV network executives who want to transform the public airwaves into a public sewer. Ask them to support passage of H.R. 310, The Broadcast Decency Enforcement Act of 2005.
Concerned Women for America, an ally in the war against TV smut, has organized a National Call-In Day to the U.S. Senate. We need your help to make it a success! This is why I am writing
today is the day. TV has gotten way out of control do you know I have seen rated P.G movies with nudity, Seems to me it is getting way out of control and time to get a grip on our morals again. Lisa Jones
I wrote an email to Mr. Kinky Friedman here it is.
"I was going through my community newspapers when I came across your Ad in the "Sea Breeze" April 4th addition pg.11, out of San Leon Tx. The headline reads " Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country." "Come out to Waynos and sign the petition that will put Kinky Friedman's name on the ballot," after I finished reading your ad I continued to thumb through the paper, I came to page 18 where I read all about Wayno's, it is a club in San Leon,Tx in case you didn't know, well I must say I did not like what I saw, They want me to go hang out with strippers, and drunks, while I sign your petition, I don't think so. Is Kinky your real 1st name? Looks like to me, you are trying to vote your way in through booze and sex. Which to me makes you look just like the rest. I went to your website to check you out, It looks pretty good, kind of vague on the ways you are going to be different. Your cartoon is neat, but whats up with the dude with a martini glass? There is the booze thing again. I am more intrested in someone that is going to get rid of all the nasty ass's of the world, excuse my french, Not put one in."
